Weaveworld

Current European Champion Maxim Sergeevich Matlakov has been finally named (because of his ranking in the ACP circuit) as the fourteenth and last contender in the 80th Tata Steel Chess Tournament which will take place in Wijk aan Zee, Netherlands from 12 to 28 January 2018, with one day’s round stop at Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision (Beeld en Geluid) in Hilversum (January 17), and at Academiegebouw of Groningen University (January 24). Therefore the final line up is as follows (in alphabetical order): Baskaran Adhiban, Viswanathan Anand, Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, Anish Giri, 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán), Gawain Christopher B. Jones, Sergey Alexandrovich Karjakin, Vladimir Borisovich Kramnik, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Maxim Sergeevich Matlakov, Wesley So, Pyotr Veniaminovich Svidler, and 韦奕 (Wéi Yì).
